HOW CAN WE DO MORE FOR OUR PATIENTS? Everything at Takeda starts with this question. And to answer it, we put people first. We place their trust and health at the heart of what we do. Driven by our mission, we embrace innovation and focus our world-class research and development on life-saving vaccines and three main therapeutic areas: gastroenterology, oncology, and the central nervous system. Our story begins in 1781, when Chobei Takeda 1 began selling traditional Japanese and Chinese herbal medicines in Doshomachi, the medicine district of Osaka, Japan. His small shop bought medicines from wholesalers, divided them into smaller batches, and sold them to local medicine merchants and doctors. He had a reputation for business integrity, and quality products and services—a tradition that lives on at Takeda. Today, we are the #1 pharmaceutical company in Japan and a global leader in the industry, with more than 30,000 employees in more than 70 locations around the world. Takeda is among the fastest growing, multinational, pharmaceutical companies in the world, and our best-in-class products are marketed in nearly 100 countries, impacting millions of people worldwide.

Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity has been proven to lead to more creativity and innovation. Companies with diverse leadership teams have been shown to respond more efficiently to a wide range of global challenges. For a research- and innovation-driven global company like Takeda, diversity is critical to our long-term success in delivering better health and a brighter future. We are accelerating D&I activities in Japan and many other parts of the world, and have introduced several initiatives to enhance gender, work-style, age and career diversity. These include: • Launching Hanamizuki, a network where women can learn from each other, share knowledge and information, and help each other develop professionally (Japan). • Introducing a flexible work-style program that gives employees the choice to select the work times and places that enable them to perform at their best (Japan). • Enhancing career diversity by encouraging faster promotion of employees who are demonstrating high performance early in their career (Japan). • Hosting the first Takeda U.S. Diversity & Leadership Symposium week in Deerfield, IL. This symposium included employee events, workshops and keynote speakers, and featured D&I leaders within Takeda (United States).
Access to Medicines
EMPOWERING OUR PEOPLE TO PIONEER A BETTER WAY Access to innovative medicines and quality healthcare is vital to the well-being of people, yet it remains a significant issue around the world. It's estimated that one in three people in developing countries can't get essential medicines on a regular basis. Our therapeutics focus is oncology, gastroenterology, and the central nervous system, as well as life-saving vaccines. With our bold, new Access to Medicines (AtM) strategy, we are expanding our existing commitments to enhance global health so that eligible patients in evolving healthcare systems can have access to our innovative and potentially life-saving medicines—even if their ability to pay for the full cost of treatment is limited. Our AtM strategy is guided by Takeda’s patient-centric philosophy and a legacy of helping others in need. Of the 38 million people who die from noncommunicable diseases each year, 28 million of these deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. Our strategy focuses in areas such as Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa, where sustainable approaches to tackle barriers that limit access to medicines are needed to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. At Takeda, we believe that everyone matters and as a member of our team, you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring mission and bold strategies just like AtM. JOB SEEKERS: PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST IDENTITY THEFT. Please be aware there are instances of identity thieves posting Takeda-branded jobs and posing as employees to steal personal information. They visit job-related websites and invite candidates to online chats. During the chat, they press job seekers to provide bank account information and Social Security numbers. At Takeda, we do not ask for personal financial information during telephone, in-person or video interviews. And we are investigating ways to mitigate or stop this scheme.
